Most families use ToyTalk with kids ages 3–8 — the sweet spot where they still believe their toys might be real but can handle a little magic responsibly. It works for older kids too (especially if they’re nostalgic about a specific toy).

Is it really free?

Yes — one toy a day, every day, forever. All six voices, personalized greetings, and full-body videos are included (a short ad plays while your toy renders). If one-a-day isn't enough, Pro ($3.99/mo) removes the cap, drops ads, and unlocks cartoonify, AI conversations, and the full developmental question library.

What happens to my kid's toy photo?

It's used only to render your animation. We don't train AI on it, sell it, or share it. You can delete it instantly and it's gone from our servers within 24 hours. The full policy is in plain English on our privacy page.

Will the toy say something weird to my kid?

Every message is generated within a kid-safe system prompt and then filtered again for age-appropriate language. You can stick to the 70-question developmental library — each one is pre-written and reviewed — if you'd rather not use open-ended generation at all.

Does it work for any toy?

Plushies, action figures, handmade sock puppets, the beat-up, missing-eye bear that’s been loved to pieces — yes, especially that one. The $3 thrift store bunny is just as worthy of a voice as a brand-new teddy bear. Just make sure we can see its face.

Can I gift it to a grandparent?
